Vulnerable Sector Checks & Police Checks

Important: This process is fully managed by the OHF questions and support requests should be directed at the OHF by using the contact information on their website found here.

Returning Individuals with a 2022 VSC (expires May 31, 2025) or New Volunteers
Team Officials, On-Ice Officials, or Volunteers that are returning for the 2025-26 season and had their screening approved by the OHF this past season with a Vulnerable Sector Check from 2022 or have never volunteered with Minor Hockey in the past will be required to submit a new VSC and complete the online declaration for this season.

Step 1: Complete theOHF Letter Requesting Vulnerable Sector Check here, you will be required to upload this during the VSC request process
Step 2: Visit OPP Police Record Check to request a VSC

  • Service Option - select Vulnerable Sector Check (no charge) all others will be denied by the OHF
  • IMPORTANT - you will get an email after submission with the subject line 'Application Submitted' once your results are available you'll receive another email 'OPP Police Record Check Results' Once those results are available you ONLY have 7 days to download those records, otherwise the link expires and you have to start the entire process again.

Step 3: Once you have your VSC results, visit the OHF Submission Portal, upload your results and complete the online declaration form. 

  • Question 'Which Ontario Member will you be registered in for the upcoming season?' - select Ontario Hockey Federation – OHF (ALLIANCE, GTHL, NOHA, OHA, OHL, OMHA, OWHA)
Returning Individuals with a 2023 or newer VSC (expires May 31, 2026+)
Team Officials, On-Ice Officials, or Volunteers that are returning for the 2025-26 season and had their screening approved by the OHF this past season with a Vulnerable Sector Check from 2023 or newer only need to complete the Online Declaration Form, visit OHF Submission Portal
  • Question 'Which Ontario Member will you be registered in for the upcoming season?' - select Ontario Hockey Federation – OHF (ALLIANCE, GTHL, NOHA, OHA, OHL, OMHA, OWHA)
  • Question 'Do you need to upload a Vulnerable Sector Check...' - select No (my VSC has not expired and want to complete the online declaration form)
